How to Choose an U of I Essay Topic
How to Choose an U of I Essay TopicAs a first-year student at the University of Illinois, I spent hours searching for an appropriate U of I essay topic. An essay is one of the few subjects where you can get by with little in the way of preparation. You will spend less time preparing and more time thinking about the essay. Since the final product will likely be your only contact with the author, it is important to choose a topic that you think of as interesting and meaningful. When I was in school, it was common to be assigned a topic that I thought was so interesting that I could have written a book on it. But while it might have been fun to write a book about such a topic, I knew that it would not be worth the trouble. I do not want to bore readers with an essay that they can skim over without having the opportunity to ask a question or respond to the writer's argument. Before I began reading about essays, I learned the basics of writing a short, but comprehensive, essay by reading a 'How to Write a Good Essay' guide. That guide included a very helpful short, two-page (in this case) a brief introduction. You can save yourself some frustration and unnecessary stress by giving a reader a succinct, concise introduction that provides them with the key information and sets the stage for a thoughtful, compelling argument.Writing a brief introduction is a great place to start, and if you can summarize what you hope to accomplish with the essay, it will make your writing process easier. Do not give away the game too early in the process. People who write like others who visit the doctor for a yearly checkup always seem to be in good health. So, the obvious first step in selecting a U of I essay topic is to think about the content that interests you. What interests you on a day-to-day basis? Arethere topics that are boring and tiresome? Think of ways to write about these topics so that you can avoid writing about them. For example, try a different approach to writing abou t your favorite vacation spot if you find yourself getting bored with the same old stuff.Once you have decided on the topics that interest you, the next step is to find ways to support your final goal. The goal is to write an essay that will stand out among the thousands of other essays that are submitted each year. There are certain characteristics that are true of successful essays. These characteristics include being well organized, using the most effective language, including the most relevant details, writing clear and concise paragraphs, and writing with integrity.Since you cannot judge a person on their ability to write an essay, you should assess how the essay will look when it is finally complete. Will it be filled with grammatical mistakes, or will it be full of material that is directly relevant to the topic? You can help make sure that the essay is well-structured by practicing and repeating it a few times. This is true for any type of writing, not just essays.Choosing a U of I essay topic that interests you is easier than it sounds. After you determine the topic and decide what type of essay you want to write, the next thing to do is to begin writing the first draft of your essay.
